The PowerPrinting project is developing investigative methods for disambiguating electrical loads in homes and offices.
Powerprinting is a new tool for detecting, classifying, and estimating the power draw of multiple appliances from a single measurement point in the home. Each appliance has its own unique signature that may be disaggregated from the sum total of the signals, based on the particulars of the load and the resulting impact it has on current and voltage relationships.
